Date & Time

January 13th - 16th, 2011, Thursday through Sunday, 10am - 6pm daily, with workshops, forums, and seminars 8am - 9pm.

Location & Transportation

The Hilton Pasadena, 168 South Los Robles Avenue, Pasadena, California 91101. Pasadena is located nine miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles. The closest and most convenient airport, Bob Hope Airport, in Burbank, is sixteen miles, or about a 20-minute drive.  Los Angeles International, served by all domestic and foreign carriers, is twenty-eight miles, a 45-minute to a 2½-hour drive, depending on the traffic.

Admission & Registration

Admission is $10, and is good for all four days. You may register online, or at the door. The show is open to the public, and is both wholesale and retail; to register as a wholesale buyer, please bring a business card and resale license.

Ask for the Pasadena Bead and Design Show Group Rate to receive the special attendee rate of $119/night. Hilton Pasadena valet parking $6/day, Hilton self-parking $9/day, Paseo Colorado Shopping Plaza $2/hour, street parking also available.

Exhibitors

Pasadena Bead and Design Show features the work of 300 exhibitors, which are chosen by juried application and by invitation for handwork and artisanship, showcasing wearable art, handmade beads, designer components, precious metals, embellishments, lapidary, art jewelry, ceramics, stones, glass art, textiles, fiber arts, metalwork, enameling, art couture, handwovens, collectibles, and decorative arts –together with artisan suppliers to the trade. Exhibitors are located in the ballrooms, showrooms, and conference rooms on the ground floor inside the Hilton Pasadena. (Also see: Exhibitor List)

Workshops

Workshops, forums, and demonstrations will be ongoing January 13 - 16, 2011, from 8am - 9pm, and will include jewelry design, bead making, textile art, shibori, bead weaving, loom work, pattern design, fashion forecasts, millinery, French flowerwork, wire work, polymer clay, metalwork, precious metal clay techniques, kumihimo designs, embellishment, creative fiber, Chinese knotting, marketing skills, ancient bead and jewelry history, and photography.
