Watch Beads and Jewelry Being Made by Talented Artisans

Pasadena, CA (January 5, 2012) The Pasadena Bead and Design Show, which is January 12 – 15, Thursday through Sunday, features handmade beads and jewelry from talented artisans. There is something for everyone –artisan booths and merchant displays, hard-to-find accessories, wearable art, craft supplies and vintage components.

Watch beads and jewelry being made by the top names in artistic bead making, and meet the artisans who produce original products like artistic clothing, fine gemstones and hand-dyed textiles.

These exhibitors form a growing base of artisans and designers who travel from all over the country to exhibit their goods, and over the years, Pasadena Bead and Design Show has promoted the growing interest in traditional artisanship by developing and refining the show’s exhibitor list.

The booths and galleries of Pasadena Bead and Design Show  are staffed by knowledgeable artists, artisans and merchants who can provide buyers with details such as the materials use and creative  techniques for innumerable handmade fashions, accessories, beads, polymer clay pieces, wearable art, interior décor, antiquities, and other one-of-a-kind product offerings.

This show’s featured exhibitors include the following designers, artisans, and merchants:

  • Amy Mealey-Xazbead –raku beads, pendants, and toggle clasps created with an ancient form and technique and fashioned into contemporary of designs.
  • Kilim Co –tribal beads, jewelry, textiles, collectible gold and silver pendants and beads.
  • Suzi Click –colorful ethnic bohemian clothing and vibrant textiles.
  • Artworks by Cathy J –classic filigree brass findings.
  • Mountain and Robbins –unique focal pieces, lampwork glass beads, designer findings, and jewelry.
  • Beads by Sandy –Bohemian beads, buttons, and hand cut crystals.
  • Nifty Thrifty Dry Goods – hand-dyed ribbons, antique lace, vintage buttons, rare textiles.

In addition to exhibits, choose from over 100 workshops and classes, instructed by talented artisans in art clay silver, polymer clay, beadmaking, soldering, jewelry design, mixed media, resin jewelry, glass clay, freeform spinning, nuno felting, metalwork, and wirework.   • Stan Rosier: "Silver Art Deco Bezel Pendant" –construct a free form stone set pendant.
  • Kathryn Withers: "Nuno Felting a Shawl" –felt a silk scarf using wet felting techniques.
  • Paula Radke: "Working with Glass Clay" –art glass clay beads, charms, and pendants.
  • Diane Whiting: "Princepesa Pendant" –create ornate pendant fit for Renaissance royalty.
  • Merilou Jenkins: "Wire Wrapped Sterling Silver Pendant" –art of jewelry wire wrapping.

In addition, the show offers merchants who specialize in vintage and antique beads; wholesale beads, supplies, findings, and components direct from the source; collectibles, antiquities, and interior décor.
