Location The Pasadena Hilton, 168 South Los Robles Avenue, Pasadena, California 91101. Pasadena is located just nine miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles, which is about a 15-minute drive. Exhibitors Pasadena Bead and Design Show features the work of 250 exhibitors, which are chosen by juried application and by invitation for handwork and artisanship, showcasing wearable art, handmade beads, designer components, precious metals, embellishments, lapidary, art jewelry, ceramics, stones, glass art, textiles, fiber arts, metalwork, enameling, art couture, handwovens, collectibles, and decorative arts –together with artisan suppliers to the trade. Exhibitors are located in the ballrooms, showrooms, and conference rooms on the ground floor inside the Pasadena Hilton.(Also see: Exhibitor List) Workshops Workshops, forums, and demonstrations will be ongoing August 14-17th, from 9am - 9pm, and will include jewelry design, bead making, textile art, shibori, bead weaving, loom work, pattern design, fashion forecasts, millinery, French flowerwork, wire work, polymer clay, metalwork, precious metal clay techniques, kumihimo designs, embellishment, creative fiber, Chinese knotting, marketing skills, ancient bead and jewelry history, and photography.(Also see: Workshop List) Admission & Registration Admission is $10, and is good for all four days. You may register online, or at the door. The show is open to the public, and is both wholesale and retail; to register as a wholesale buyer, please bring a business card and resale license. Parking Pasadena Hilton self-parking $9/day, Hilton Valet $11/day. Additional parking at Paseo Colorado Shopping Plaza $2/hour, and Pasadena Center $7/day. Weather Weather is one of the reasons that wealthy industrialists built their splendid winter homes and gardens here, to get away from the unforgiving winters of the East and Midwest, to stretch out around exotic rose gardens bathed in light, and walk the oak, palm, walnut, sycamore, avocado, and cherry-lined boulevards. The average high in January is 70 degrees, with a low of 55. The swimming pool and spa of the Pasadena Hilton are open year-round. Restaurants The Pasadena Hilton has a gourmet restaurant and bar, conveniently located next to the ballrooms.
